Small Business Outsourcing ? Hire The Best Players Today ...

Outsourcing Strategies

There are two types of outsourcing and they are out tasking and outsourcing. Out tasking for me is that idea you go through those third party services, and you?ll be going through vWorkers or Elance and those types of things. They?re one off tasks, and for me it?s all about testing the water and you?re trying to find people to join your team.

Then there is outsourcing and when I think outsourcing, I think about getting a company on board or someone who is contracting themselves out to lots of people. An example of that might be Need An Article. I might be using Need An Article to get my articles written. They?re an outsourcing company that I deal with and they work with a whole lot of other people. That for me is more what outsourcing is and I use that for recurring tasks.

If you are planning to hire your dedicated staff on board, then it is best to plan out something like training outsourcing for them and get the best workers to join your team.

Insourcing is another term that is more often mixed up with outsourcing. Insourcing happens when you are already hiring your own assistants that is why it is best to get the A players and compensate them just like the rest of your other virtual assistants in the company. In this case, you are not into outsourcing anymore because you already hired them as part of your virtual team. I do this so they can complete some SEO services for me while I manage my team of virtual workers in the company.

Now, if you are thinking of building your small business outsourcing team, make sure to get the best staff to do the work for you. You need to find these people that you can trust to get the work done as soon as they can with great results. This also means that this person goes beyond what he needs to do to help you get things going for your business.

On the other hand, a B player is someone who just do what is being told, nothing more than that. You have to closely identify your A players from them and bring them to your team. Do this to ensure huge success in your small business soon.

Brad Smart did some analysis on the costs of hiring wrong people to do the job for you in his book called Top Grading. He mentioned that it will definitely costs you six times their salary over the life of that staff as profits lost because you hired the wrong person for the job. That means a lot for your small business, especially if you are just starting to build your own team.

You can go further by computing how much you pay that person, then multiply it by six, that?s how much hiring the best staff is worth over settling with the B staff. That?s why I am emphasizing the importance of hiring these types of workers, especially if you are running a business like an SEO company. You can make the A staff more productive as you have to spend little time to train them, as opposed to having to spend longer time to train a B staff.

That?s why it?s really key for me when I bring someone on board, I want to make sure I?ve got someone on board who is the A player. They just take so much less work to get them to a point where you need to get them to be.

With that said, I strongly recommend that you hire slowly. It may be an long in small business outsourcing setup but believe me, it is all worth your time. If you currently have someone who is not standing up to being an A player then just fire the person right away. You will be thankful that you did because that will have a positive effect on your business in the long run.
