The Super Soldier

Captain America was created in 1941 during The Second World War, his attire is made to look like an American flag. This hero sports an indestructible red white and blue shield that he can throw as a weapon. To date Marvel Entertainment has sold over 210 million Capitan America comic books around the world to children of all ages.

The original makers of Capitan America were artists Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, who made the character to fight Adolf Hitler. In the story our hero is really Steve Rogers, who desperately want to serve his country, but is rejected by the army due to his health condition. His only chance is to take an experimental drug call the ?Super Soldier Serum?. The experiment is successful and Steve is transformed into a perfectly healthy and fit soldier ready for battle. Having only his shield, his durability, his intelligence and a command of fighting abilities, Captain America dealt with many foes.

Captain America volume 5 #25 was supposed to be the issue where Steve Rogers died. He was shot by an assassin hidden in a building across the street. Although Rogers already discovered the hired gun before the actual shooting, he was being carried away in handcuffs at the time. This was to mark the end of Marvel?s mini series called ?Civil War?. Much like the hoopla that surrounded the supposed death of Superman, the death of Captain America caused a stir in the comic book world. Although just like Clark Kent, Captain America was later discovered to be among the living.Because of this discovery, the value of any merchandise affiliated to his death dropped sharply.

The long lived franchise is now releasing a new movie titled ?Captain America: The First Avenger?. The movie covers the story from the start when Rogers signs up for the army experiment to become a super soldier. Captain America wages war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the wicked Red Skull.

Ahead of the movie merchandisers have already stocked their websites with highly specific Captain America figures. The collectibles are normally produced by all of the big players, Bowen Designs, Sideshow Collectibles and ARH Studios amongst others. These collectibles, as usual, are all limited edition figures. Your Captain America statue will be one of only a very limited number to exist on the planet. The Captain America statues are sure to increase in value once producers have reached their limit. As with most things the internet is where you?ll find the best value. Company?s like eBay allow people to bid, if that particular Captain America statue does not produce a lot of interest at that particular time then the final price can be a very good one for an enthusiastic collector.
