I am going on holiday on wed and want to do some of my art work on the plane do you think i would be able to take paint on the plain?

DEPENDS?I believe you can do it while ON the plane-IF you had the paint already on your pallet ?squirted out &DRIED in the little sectional pallet as usable color..just re-wet it with your brush-but don't try and bring the tubes of still wet paint?liquids and all?-(I'd be more concerned whether or not they'd allow for the brushes.(potential 'weapons'?then again, I do see old Grannies knitting on planes so maybe the brushes would not be an isssue)..pack some brushes in your checked luggage and bring ONE expendable brush in your carry on?and so if they permit it?that's great. If not, make sure you're not then gonna have to throw out a Kolinski sable brush?bring a cheap one?but surely -they'd not permit you to bring in your carry on luggage watercolor paint still in the tubes as "squirtable"-as all liquids must be certain sizes?in the plastic designated bag? and only so much in the carry-on?but, to be sure, contact your airline to make a formal inquiry?they will be able to tell you there?.but Yes-you can pack it-watercolor paints are permitted in luggage.. Pack it in your luggage and don't plan on taking it in your carry-on.

You'd be best to use one of THEIR disposable plastic cups for your water so when the stewardess comes to take the drinks (and your water) due to tray up time, you'd not be losing your container. You'd not have time necessaarily to get up and empty your paint water?so just get a new cup when turbulence or whatever is over?and sit next to the window so you're not isturbed everytime someone gets up to go to the can.
Solvents and some oil paints are not permitted..but watercolors are.

Any liquids, pastes, creams, etc., must be carried in containers not larger than 100ml.
These must all be carried in a transparent, resealable bag (zip lok for example) which is a max size a little larger than the zip lok sandwich bags.
These have to be shown to Customs when they check you through the inspection procedure.

Call your airline and ask. I would not suggest painting on the plane. you however can pack it in your checked luggage. I suggest sticking to the coloured pencil and charcoal drawings while on the plane.

Watercolours are non-hazardous, so I wouldn't think that the airline would have a problem. I've taken my paints around the world & never had anyone ask! but to put your mind at rest call the airline in question.

I don't know why not i took my drawing pencils with me on the plane the last three years and drew on the plane you might hav trouble getting enough water to paint
