Ravens' Ray Lewis lists Florida beach home

This week in celebrity real estate, two-time Super Bowl champion Ray Lewis listed his Florida home for sale, model Cheryl Tiegs? home hit the market and Billy Bob Thornton traded his Beverly Hills home for a Brentwood place.

Ray Lewis lists in Highland Beach, Fla., home
Retired Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis may be relegated to the sidelines, but he?s hoping to make strides in real estate. The two-time Super Bowl champion is selling his Florida estate for $4.995 million, The Baltimore Sun reports.

The waterfront property at 3573 S. Ocean Blvd, Highland Beach, Fla. 33487 sits on a 10,890-square-foot lot in the middle of Highland Beach. As expected from a high-profile athlete?s home, the house is luxurious. Seven bedrooms, 8.5 baths, a gourmet kitchen, pool, Jacuzzi tub, rooftop deck and a wall of windows overlooking the ocean are just a few of the jaw-dropping amenities.

You might be wondering why Lewis would ever want to move, but with plans to join ESPN as an analyst this fall, it makes sense to sell the beachfront pad to move near the network?s headquarters in Bristol, Conn. According to property records, Lewis has owned the Florida home since April 2004, when he bought it for $5.22 million.

However, Lewis told USA Today that he wants to be able to see his son, Ray Lewis III, play football at the University of Miami and, as a result, won?t make it to ESPN headquarters for every pregame show. Time will tell whether Lewis moves permanently to Bristol or buys another residence closer to his son.

Lewis isn?t the only Ravens player trying to sell his crib. Running back Ray Rice listed his modest Baltimore condo in August 2012. Originally asking $339,900, the home took a price cut of $20,000 in January 2013.

Cheryl Tiegs lists Bel Air oasis
You may have seen her brief stint on ?The Celebrity Apprentice? last year, but Cheryl Tiegs will go down in history as America?s first supermodel. Now the 1970s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover girl is selling her L.A. home for $12 million.

The 1.43-acre estate is located at 809 Nimes Pl., Los Angeles, Calif. 90077 in prestigious East Bel Air, but with lush tropical plants and dark-wood accents, the home feels more like being on a private island. Situated at the end of a long, gated driveway, a large door sets the tone for the Balinese-inspired home.

Designed by famed interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, the interior is framed by tall, vaulted ceilings and ornate pendant lights. The feel continues into the kitchen where rich mahogany cabinets make a bold statement. In an interview with Cambria Style magazine, Tiegs described the kitchen countertops as ?very smooth, very Zen.?

In fact, Tiegs said her home?s design was all about producing a ?soothing, calming effect.? The listing describes the master suite as a ?true retreat? with a ?spa-like bathroom finished in sea grass and rich woodwork.? A private pool and guest house are also highlights.

Billy Bob Thornton moves from Beverly Hills to Brentwood
Billy Bob Thornton made headlines earlier this year when he finally sold the Beverly Hills home he and Angelina Jolie shared before their divorce in 2003. Only now ? 10 years after their split ? is Thornton moving on.

The ?Sling Blade? star, writer and director recently purchased a house in Brentwood for $2.7 million.

Measuring 3,604 square feet, the home is a significant downsize from Thornton?s 11,012 square feet at 801 N. Roxbury Dr. But his new Cape Cod-inspired retreat is nothing to complain about, with French doors leading to a professionally-designed great room with a stacked-stone fireplace. The home also comes with a fully-updated kitchen and walk-in pantry, as well as a master suite with an adjacent room ? perfect for a home office or nursery.

Outside, Thornton will enjoy a private salt-water pool and outdoor entertaining space surrounded by sycamore trees in L.A.?s Mandeville Canyon. This seems particularly fitting, considering the star has a reputation for secluding himself.

The former couple purchased their Beverly Hills mansion for $3.7 million from Guns N? Roses guitarist Slash in 2000. Although Thornton?s new home doesn?t have any apparent celebrity roots, the neighborhood is a Hollywood launchpad. From Julie Andrews to Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger ? several A-listers? former Brentwood homes have recently hit the market.
